Mrs. Ann O'Brien of Main Street, Portglenone,
winner of the 1976 Senior Fiddle Slow Air Competition
which was held in Buncrana. Ann was a co-founder of Portglenone C.C.E. along with her husband Colm. Sadly, Ann passed away in 1988 but her family, winners of Fleadh and Slogadh competitions alike, carry on the musical tradition. |

Malachy Kearney, also of Main Street, Portglenone, winner of the 1976 Under 11 Singing Competition which was held in Sligo. Malachy Kearney is now a successful business man in the Portglenone area and a Portglenone C.C.E. sponsor. |

Mr. John O'Connell, also of Main Street, Portglenone, winner of the 1990 Senior Mouth Whistling Competition which was held in Sligo. John finally won his much coveted All-Ireland title after many years of coming close to his dream.Unfortunately, John passed away in May of 1993 but not before passing on his talent to his pupils who have since went on to win All-Ireland titles themselves. |

Donna Graham of Largy Road, Portglenone, winner of the 1994 12-15 Mouth Whistling Competition which was held in Clonmel. Donna was one of John O'Connell's pupils and benefited from his teaching immensely. It was only a pity that John did not live to see the fruits of his labour.Donna has just finished studying Medicine at Queens in Belfast and is now in Perth, Australia. |

Cois Locha won the Senior Grupai Cheoil Competition in 1994 at the Fleadh Cheoil in Clonmel. Cois Locha won their Ulster Senior Grupai Cheoil title in 1992 and went on to achieve the glorious Ulster three in a row (1992-93-94).From this they went on to win the All-Ireland title in 1994 with great celebrations when they arrived home in Portglenone. |

Kieran Convery won the Senior Fiddle Slow Air Competition in 1996 at the Fleadh Cheoil in Listowel. Kieran was taught by Portglenone C.C.E. co-founder and All-Ireland winner, Ann O'Brien who won the same competition exactly 20 years earlier in Buncrana.He went on to be taught by Tommy McGoldrick who also won the Senior Slow Air All-Ireland in 1981. Tommy McGoldrick is now of course more famous for his paintings of Irish Scenery. Kieran teaches Technology at St.Louis Grammar, Ballymena. |

Ceoltoiri Crosskeys won the 15 - 18 Grupai Cheoil Competition at the Fleadh Cheoil in Enniscorthy 2000. Congratulations to our millennium winners who competed against groups from all over Ireland, Britain and the United States to bring home the 15-18 Grupai Cheoil Trophy to the North of Ireland for the first ever. |

The trio won their Competition at the Fleadh Cheoil in Enniscorthy 2000. This was the first time a Trio group from Portglenone CCE has won an All-Ireland and hopefully will not be the last. |
